DualDiagnosis is an Athens, Georgia band formed and fronted by lyricist and composer George Wright.
In Spring of 2005 George met with Joel Byron (Bling the Children Back Home) and the two began to go through George’s collection of completed songs and poems without music. Joel is a talented musician and was soon adding Dobro and six and twelve string arrangements onto the songs, and selecting poems for George to write chord structures for. He also was adding in his own comments on possible lyrical additions and suggesting arrangements, and in around three months George and Joel had 14 songs that they were comfortable with.
Joel’s brother Chris “The Magic Maker” (also a “Bling” member) agreed to engineer a CD and Joel signed on as producer. Chris has extensive production experience in a nationally known Athens studio. With Joel and Chris guiding the project a collection of local musicians joined in, and the result is an eclectic mix of styles both in the songs and the talents of the local Athens musicians that fit each song. Joel knows whom to use where, and Chris makes it all happen.
